MDS+, the default technology used in the EU and in other countries for the remote data access to fusion laboratories, has been proposed to JADA as an EU technological contribution to the ITER Remote Experiment Centre (REC) project. For this application, MDS+ needs to be enhanced to better cope with the long distance communications and with the long duration of the ITER pulses.
