Title | JT60SA: PELLET INJECTOR SYSTEM INFODAY 17th of JULY |
Category | Information Days |
Body | In preparation of the forthcoming Call For Tender for JT60SA Pellet Injector System, F4E organizes an hybrid Infoday (ZOOM videoconference and presential meeting at IPP Garching) Thursday the 17th of July. The Scope of this forthcoming framework contract is the development of pellet sources, as described in the following, for the JT-60SA tokamak and in general for present and future fusion experiments. A pellet source is composed mainly by an extruder able to produce rods of (typically) Hydrogen or Deuterium ice and a cutter able to produce pellets of a defined size and at a defined repetition rate. The framework will be split in two lots, one for continuous fueling sources (pellets of ~2.4x2.4 mm with an ice throughput of up to 350 mm3/s) and one for continuous pacing sources (pellets of ~1.2x1.2 mm at ice throughput of up to 100 mm3/s). As this is a first of a kind development in Europe, the strategy is to request for each lot a temporary non-continuous source to be ready on a shorter time scale (late 2026) able to extrude a limited quantity of ice. A final source on a longer development time scale (late 2029) capable of continuous pellet production will be launched in parallel. Both lots also foresee prototypes to advance the technology and explore alternative concepts/parameters. If you want to participate (receiving details for both ways to follow the Infoday), please register at: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/JT60SA_PELLET_INJECTION_SYSTEM_INFODAY_17th_July_2025
